The ingenious cable construction and the arrangement of the individual stranded wires produce good capacitance and very low inductivity in spite of the large cross-sectional area. The quality of the insulators is exceptional, and this gives outstanding results from laboratory testing at all frequencies, and corresponding sound qualities. An additional external shield protects the signal from electro-magnetic and radio frequency interference.
The cable’s mechanical construction is unique, guaranteeing absolute stability and firm support to the stranded conductors, and this ensures superb bass characteristics. The eight groups of stranded wires with their high-quality insulators are anchored securely around a poly-ethylene (PE) core, and enclosed in a soft wound material for efficient damping. Around this there is a strong inner PE sleeve around which the woven shielding material is fitted. The cable is completed by a strong, clear outer sleeve.
By connecting the eight stranded wires in different arrangements Speaker Eight cable can be used in a wide variety of ways. Depending on the connection facilities provided by the amplifier and loudspeakers, the cable can be employed for classic stereo connections using two inputs and two outputs, as well as bi-wiring arrangements using two inputs and four outputs, or four inputs and four outputs. The channel separation between bass and mid-range is outstandingly good.
Speaker Eight is available off the roll, or as ready-made cables with solid aluminium sleeves and ferrite RF short-circuit rings.
